In the whole-house customization industry, there is an old saying: hardware accessories are the heart of a home! Many people focus on design and materials when choosing furniture, but they do not realize that the lifespan and aesthetics of whole-house customized products largely depend on these hardware accessories. Today, I will educate everyone about the various aspects of hardware accessories.
Basic Hardware: Don't underestimate these small parts
Basic hardware includes hinges, slides, handles, and dampers, which are essential components of cabinets. The sensitivity of hinges and slides is particularly important, and ease of use is the primary principle. Good hardware allows you to open cabinet doors or drawers with a gentle pull, and the process is very smooth without any jamming.
Hinges: The "heart" of the door
Hinges, also known as pivots, are the core components that connect the cabinet body and the door panel. Have you ever encountered a situation where the door creaks when opened, the hinges are rusted and corroded, or the hinge screws are loose, making you anxious just to open a cabinet door? These are all problems caused by the hinges. When selecting hinges, prioritize stainless steel materials, preferably with a nickel-plated surface for corrosion resistance and high strength; it is best to pair them with dampers for shock absorption and quiet operation. However, if there are handle-less cabinet doors with dampers, it may be inconvenient, so this should be communicated in advance.
Slides: The "runway" for drawers
Slides, also known as slide rails, are generally used in drawers. Common types of drawer slides include side slides (two/three-section rails), bottom slides, and horse-riding slides. Generally speaking, side slides are commonly used in the cabinets inside wardrobes, while bottom slides are used for drawers with higher load-bearing requirements.
Handles: The most frequently contacted part
Handles are the parts we contact most frequently with the cabinet body, mainly divided into external, embedded, and hidden types. The materials for handles include zinc alloy, copper, aluminum, stainless steel, solid wood, ceramics, and leather. Handles that are electroplated and powder-coated have wear resistance and corrosion resistance.
Clothes Rods: Choosing the right hanging rod
Clothes rods, commonly known as hanging rods, consist of a rod holder and a hanging rod. Its hardness and load-bearing capacity need to be emphasized. A high-quality clothes rod is not only sturdy and durable but also non-slip, preventing clothes from being crammed together.
Straighteners: The easily overlooked component
Compared to the above components, straighteners are less well-known. Their function is to straighten and prevent door panels from deforming, and they can be used on cabinet doors of wardrobes, cabinets, bookshelves, and shoe cabinets. When customizing cabinets, if the cabinet doors are higher than 2 meters, it is necessary to install straighteners; if they are lower than 2 meters and have special treatments like metal frames, straighteners may not be needed.
In summary, although hardware accessories may seem inconspicuous, they are crucial to the convenience and comfort of our daily lives. Choosing the right hardware accessories allows every detail in your home to reflect your taste and wisdom.
